Dear Sally-Ann Hart MP
I write with regard to your attack to the elected councillorsย of Hastings Borough Council in which it wasย notarized originally hereย https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2024-04-24/debates/889FD0F7-0D14-4B42-965C-B6B32D3EFE05 now removed and made to disappear the error ‘The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.‘ and is also available and shown on the Parliament channel on the BBC iPlayer here BBC iPlayer – Prime Ministers Questions – 24/04/2024 https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001ynv2/prime-ministers-questions-24042024
Coverage of questions in the House of Commons to Rishi Sunak, the prime minister, which will be answered by Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden whilst Mr. Sunak is in Germany, from Wednesday 24 April 2024 I was informed that this was known here https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2024-04-24/debates/19cb33af-212d-421a-ba74-c7cc5102f0a0/commonschamber and maybe I could just not view this. It was suggested that I telephoned the library 0207 219 3666 and or 0207 219 05516. unfortunately, no one I spoke to could explain where this link from the site had disappeared to. I asked if he could share a link https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2024-04-24/debates/19cb33af-212d-421a-ba74-c7cc5102f0a0/commonschamber/ed0e25-e6-a937-48c1-aef3-d82e394c0f89/engagements both of these links came back with the error ‘The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.’ I found this again here Engagements – Hansard – UK Parliament https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2024-04-24/debates/ED0E25E6-A937-48C1-AEF3-D82E394C0F89/Engagements It is now referred to in

The Labour leader of the almost bankrupt Hastings Borough Council and several other Labour councillors resigned from the Labour party citing that the national Labour party has become overly authoritarian, in a โdereliction of local democracyโ, and has โlost its moral compassโ and is suffocating local voices because its only objective is power for powerโs sake. Would the Deputy Prime Minister agree that voting for Conservative candidates in upcoming elections will ensure local voters are heard, local democracy is upheld and better services are delivered?

My hon. Friend is absolutely right to highlight the really serious concerns about Labour councillors in Hastings. One former Labour councillor said that Labour are no longer providing โthe policies, the support, or the focus on local governmentโ. I could not have put it better myself.
Our Thoughts.
Sadly though the information given out may have been political but needed clearer in fact, the problems you address are primarily the fault of the non-elected officers who have โlost its moral compassโ and are suffocating local voices because it’s only objective is power for powerโs sake. local democracy is not upheld and “unlawful practices abound“. I cannot speak for the councilors who in my opinion have always tried their best against unjust unlawful behaviour of these officers. When will you step in and shut this down? My grievances are still not being addressed in regard to my daughter Emily and her unlawful abduction and unlawful position in N. Ireland. When will this be addressed?
I understand the eagerness and anticipation that comes with awaiting a response, especially when it involves an important matter. Itโs a natural feeling to look ahead with hope and expectation, eagerly anticipating the message that will soon arrive. The excitement of receiving a reply can bring a sense of anticipation and curiosity as we eagerly wait to hear back about the topic at hand. The act of anticipating a response can be filled with a range of emotions, from hope to excitement. The waiting game is often filled with thoughts about what the reply may contain, and the possible implications it could have. Rest assured, the reply will bring valuable information or input that will contribute to the ongoing conversation or decision-making process.
