Subject: Second Request โ€“ Data Protection and LAC Payment Statement
To: The Data Protection Office, Department for Education
Cc: Baroness Grey-Thomson

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing further to my previous correspondence and under the above references. This is my third formal request concerning a matter of considerable importance relating to Looked After Children (LAC) payments and your department’s data protection practices.

To date, I have not seen evidence that the Department for Education has abided by its data protection obligations in my case. I am particularly concerned by a statement made by your ministerial officer in the House of Commons, asserting that the department had received LAC-related payments for a particular period. This statement was broadcast on the Parliamentary channel and is available for public viewing.

In prior responses, your department provided irrelevant information concerning a school in Tonbridge, which had no bearing on my original request. This raises serious concerns about your data processing standards and whether they are being applied appropriately and lawfully.

I therefore request the following information:

  1. Clarification on the Parliamentary Statement:
    • How frequently are LAC payment statements made in Parliament?
    • Who within the department is responsible for these announcements?
    • What is the purpose of making such information public?

This request is made under my rights to information and transparency, and I expect a clear and comprehensive response without further delay.

Yours faithfully,
Martin Newbold
