Dear ICO Casework Team,
Subject: Urgent Request for Expedited Review – Case Reference IC-349990-F7B5
I am writing to request an expedited review of my complaint regarding East Sussex County Council (Case Reference: IC-349990-F7B5), submitted on 2nd December 2025, and currently due for resolution by 20th February 2025.
My concern is not about email correspondence but rather the fact that East Sussex County Council has caused my name to be wrongly associated with another individual in Google search results. This has led to serious reputational damage, which is entirely unacceptable. The matter has already been reported to Google under reference [4-8882000038386], but the Council’s failure to ensure data accuracy under Article 5(1)(d) of UK GDPR remains the core issue.
Despite raising concerns, no corrective action has been taken, and this misidentification continues to cause harm. Given the severe and ongoing impact, I urge the ICO to prioritise this matter for immediate investigation.
Please confirm receipt of this request and provide an update on the next steps.
The council has stated “We have addressed this matter and will not be corresponding further on this. ” When clearly it has not !
Sincerely,
Mr. Martin Newbold
