As the author of The Stealing of Emily, a series that addresses pressing societal issues such as data privacy, the judicial process, and accountability, I find myself compelled to address several concerns regarding my X (formerly Twitter) account. These issues are not only a violation of my rights but also undermine the very principles I stand for in my writing.

Unexplained Account Actions

Despite being an active participant on the platform, I have not received any clear explanation from X regarding which specific rules my account allegedly violated. The lack of transparency is more than just a technical issue—it’s an ongoing violation of my rights. It is deeply troubling that the platform continues to act without providing due process or justification, causing irreversible harm to my reputation and character.

Archive Download Error

In an effort to compile evidence for my legal work, I attempted to download the archive of posts from my X account to submit as evidence to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg. Unfortunately, the download fails with the error message:
“Error. Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
This ongoing issue appears to be a clear breach of GDPR regulations, which entitle me to access the personal data held by the platform. The inability to retrieve my own data further erodes my ability to challenge wrongful actions.

Data Protection Request

In line with my legal rights, I have submitted a formal Data Protection Request (DPR) to X for all data relating to my account since 2015. However, there has been no indication of whether the request will be honored. The platform’s failure to comply would not only be a violation of GDPR but also a direct affront to my rights as a citizen and a writer.

Jurisdictional Concerns

It’s important to note that any action taken against me using invalid or fabricated jurisdictional orders is unlawful. Such behavior violates my fundamental rights and can only be described as an act of violence against me. As an author dedicated to promoting truth and transparency, I ensure that my posts are substantiated by credible sources, including AI tools and Wikipedia, to maintain accuracy and avoid misinformation.

A Call for Accountability

The issues outlined above are not just technical problems—they are indicative of broader systemic issues that I address in The Stealing of Emily. The book sheds light on hidden forces that shape our world, and my current experience with X only reinforces the need for greater transparency and accountability in both the digital and judicial realms.

I call on X to act in compliance with GDPR, to clarify the reasons behind any actions taken against my account and to ensure that personal data requests are fulfilled promptly and transparently. Until then, I will continue to advocate for the principles of justice and transparency that The Stealing of Emily seeks to uphold.

You can follow the progress of this issue and my efforts for accountability on my X Profile.

Your sincerely

Martin Newbold
