After learning that the Northern Ireland Commissioner had escalated my complaint to the police, I was very happy. However, during subsequent telephone calls on September 24, 2024, I found that the police triage team could not locate any new escalation report from either the police in Newry or elsewhere in the UK. This raised significant concerns about the handling of my complaint.

Concerned about this situation, I wrote to the Northern Ireland Children Commissioner’s legal team to express my apprehensions. In my letter, I emphasized that while I had been informed that my concerns were taken seriously, the officer I spoke with could not provide any information regarding the escalation. I requested clarification on whether my complaint had indeed been escalated, any associated case number or reference, and guidance on how to proceed if the police were unable to locate any report.
