Good morning Mr Newbold
Thank you for contacting the Commissioner for Victims of Crime Office.
Based on the information provided in your email, your query would not fall within the remit of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime Office.
The Commission is unable to advocate in individual cases and the remit the Office is to make recommendations to improve the Criminal Justice System and the agencies that operate within that based on the evidence and experience of victims of crime.
I would suggest contacting the Information Commissioners Office regarding any concerns you have in relation to the failure to adhere to FoI /SAR requests. Additionally, if you feel a crime has been committed please report it to the PSNI for investigation.
Apologies there isnโt any more we can do to assist.
Kind regards
Denise

Subject: Re: Urgent Request for Assistance Regarding Southern Regional College
Good morning Denise,
Thank you for your prompt response and for clarifying the remit of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime Office.
I understand that individual cases fall outside the Officeโs scope. However, I want to express that the situation involves serious concerns that may extend beyond the failure to respond to FOI/SAR requests. The ongoing issues suggest that Southern Regional College may not be operating as a legitimate educational institution but rather engaging in activities that raise significant legal and ethical questions.
There is substantial evidence to suggest that the site, which is purported to be a college, may actually be involved in housing children under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) inappropriately or unlawfully. This raises potential criminal concerns, particularly if the site is misrepresenting itself or not adhering to legal requirements for safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Given these serious concerns, I am particularly troubled about whether this siteโs operations might constitute a broader criminal issue, potentially impacting the safety and rights of children. This is why I am keen to involve relevant authorities who can address these concerns comprehensively.
This morning, I contacted the Information Commissionerโs Office (ICO) and was informed that Ian Boden, Corporate Compliance Manager, is the designated Data Protection Officer for Southern Regional College. His contact details are as follows:
- Ian Boden
- Corporate Compliance Manager
- Banbridge Campus, Castlewellan Road, Banbridge, Co Down, BT32 4AY
- Email: dpo@src.ac.uk
I have written to Mr. Boden again this morning regarding the failure to respond to Data Access Requests (DAP) and Subject Access Requests (SAR), but I have yet to receive a reply.
If you have any additional recommendations or resources that might assist in addressing these concerns, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
Thank you once again for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Kind Regards
Mr. Martin Newbold
